Job Title: Transmission Systems / Controls Engineer - Direct Hire / Full Time / Perm

Job Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Job Description:

Overview:

  • To capture powertrain and vehicle functional objectives and develop transmission system/control
  • functional requirements in response to them.
  • In parallel to transmission hardware, controls, and electronics design development activities, and
  • suppliers, capture their design assumptions/requirements and system level requirements
  • Capture information data flows between electronic & software components
  • Integrate and synthesize acquired information to create new written transmission system control
  • requirement specifications, with ability to link to requirement sources, and to downstream
  • development activities and their documentation workproduct
  • Work with teams to verify system specification content align with downstream work product and in
  • vehicle.
  • To participate in team/organizational system requirement documentation and work flow concept
  • proposal development, and to execute from concept to completion, required transmission system
  • documentation
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics,
  • or other related Engineeringdegree.
  • Minimum 5years of experience in automotive powertrain controls (engine, transmission,
  • driveline) development
  • Experience in reviewing and communicating technical information
  • Experienceworking with and providing direction to supplier(s) or other activities
  • Work with cross functional teams; program management; issue resolution
  • Able to work in team environment, and be self-motivating to make plans and take action with minimal
  • direction
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have experience in DFMEA creation, able to lead/participate in DFMEA reviews
  • Experience with communication protocols (CAN, LIN, etc.) and tools for in-vehicle usage
  • Shall have experience with DOORs or other requirements capture facility
  • Be able to read electrical/electronic schematics
  • Familiar with INCOSE/Requirement writing standard

Additional Information:

  • During interviews, manager would like the candidate to bring in samples of writing
  • skills/specifications.
  • MUST HAVE excellent communication skills
  • May be required to drive a company car. Valid driver?s license and clear driving record.
  • May be required to travel domestically (0-20%)
