The Sales Training Manager position is responsible for the development and implementation of sales training programs for new and existing field sales team members, and for effectively incorporating Mohawk Industries sales strategies into training programs. Develop and coach sales representatives and collaborate with various internal departments and external resources to create, update and deliver training programs that reinforce key business drivers, leverage best practices and increase overall productivity of the sales force. Responsible for training of field sales trainers and for formal communication between the home office and field sales. The Sales Training Manager will work out of our corporate office in Calhoun, GA.


  • Research, develop, and create curricula to meet the needs of all levels of sales development including initial sales training, advanced sales training and regional field training.

  • Work closely with Marketing and field managers in development of training programs for new product launches in developing brand training programs focusing on brand strategies and tactics to increases sales.

  • Establish goals and learning objectives to design appropriate and effective curricula. Develop training materials, assessments, role-plays, activities, job aids, etc. for new hire sales, advanced sales and sales leadership training ensuring all materials and programs are learner-focused, interactive, effective and user-friendly.

  • Assist and measure training programs to ensure that they are relevant to the needs of the changing business.

  • Collect feedback from managers, participants and trainers to improve on training processes and programs.

  • Develop and manage long-term training calendar to co-exist with corporate calendar.

  • Deliver training programs at regional meetings and other training events as needed.

  • Conduct sales training programs effectively through engaging the participants, facilitating purposeful group discussions, coaching them in role-plays and other activities as needed, and providing constructive feedback throughout all classroom and web-based instruction.

  • Research and source outside training resources and partner with outside vendors to develop new sales training programs as needed.

  • Develop and deliver materials for train-the-trainer program to field locations.

  • Perform other duties as required.


Experience & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources organization Development, Education or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 5 years sales training design and delivery experience.

  • Previous sales experience and track record of sales success.

  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated competency in instructional design, needs assessment, performance measurement and evaluation, process improvement, team-building skills, and consulting skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in training needs analysis, program and curriculum development, training delivery and training evaluation methods.

  • Proven ability to establish goals, set clear expectations, prioritize activities and follow-through with timely execution of cross-functional team environment.

  • Ability to translate business goals and objectives into realistic sales training curricula.

  • Ability and willingness to travel with the frequency required by the job.


  • Intermediate level of keyboarding and computer skills. Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook proficiency required.

  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills required. Customer focus, coaching, and team building experience a strong plus.

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of management, internal and external customers, and the ability to present information accurately and effectively to diverse audience

  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills; ability to work with others to accomplish objectives and goals. Ability to build solid working relationships across divisions/functional areas. Ability to gain agreement on issues and next steps from diverse audiences.

  • Strong project management skills. Ability to formulate action plans and timelines and to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Occasional travel - field training.
