Summary:

The Training Manager supports PPG Architectural Coatings Home Centers in all aspects of training to include, but not limited to, designing training modules, presenting professional sales and service modules, implementation of programs, coaching and developing a team of Training Specialists as well as Territory and Regional Managers in how to effectively develop their sales associates and external customers. The Training Manager works with account managers and leadership team to produce training materials for associates to sell PPG paint, stain, and specialty products. The Manager must be self-directed and able to develop a strong work relationship with internal and external customers. A 40 plus hour work week and up to 50 percent travel is expected (schedule to be determined by the Training and Development department).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Home Center training programs
  • Works closely with the sales and marketing teams to support new product launches
  • Develops and implements training plans for new store training
  • Supervises a team of Training Specialists in support of Home Center account needs
  • Designs and implements train the trainer programs for field sales
  • Manages compliance issues on the use of on all training programs
  • Conducts needs analysis to determine the training focus on individual accounts
  • Support training needs at National Sales meetings
  • Responsible for constant improvement and development of existing training programs based on new learning or technology
  • Designs measurement systems to evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of training programs





Qualifications:




Experience Requirements:

  • Four year degree in Business Administration or like discipline is required.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in the sales or retail industry at the operations or sales management level is required.
  • Experience in training and development industry, with adult learning theory, or influencing behavior is preferred.


Functional & Technical Skills:

  • Ability and comfort presenting to groups upward of 100.
  • Must be organized, have excellent communication and facilitation skills and must be competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Online training design experience preferred.
