This position is responsible for the sales and technical execution of the Total Lab Solutions which will include but not be limited to: lab systems and automation lines of business for Abbott Diagnostics LAC Commercial Operations.
This position leads the Technical Specialists associated with these businesses to support the Enterprise Acquisition Sales team and has full accountability for direct sales and support initiatives at the regional level.
The Total Solutions Design (TSD) Manager will report to the Area Technical Solutions Design Manager. This position will work closely with the Enterprise Solutions Directors/Managers in Canada..
The TSD Manager will work closely with the Acquisition and Customer Experience teams in both the acquisition and renewal process following the Strategic Account Management (SAM ) process.
The TSD Manager will also work closely with the Start team staff (Implementation & Integration); Sales & Service Training; Contracts & Pricing; Customer Service; and Regional Sales & Customer Experience Management.
Working with the Regional Sales teams; this position will identify opportunities; create and implement strategies and leverage and develop all necessary sales and technical tools and programs to optimize sales opportunities; increase instrument placements and improve overall business profitability.
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
Evaluate the technical solutions to include: analytical systems; automation and workflow opportunities and allocate resources only to those opportunities that are consistent with ADD’s overall commercial strategy.
Maintain fiscal responsibility and complete each year under expense plan with a primary goal of exceeding each year’s sales and margin plan. Provide leadership through direction; motivation; coaching; and skill development as well as product; industry; competitive; and company knowledge. Work with LAC and Global Marketing to create; implement and communicate technical solutions; automation and workflow consulting strategy; business plans and vision. Set goals and monitor progress of the team. Maintain a diverse and motivated team of specialists and consultants. Conduct performance evaluations; provide feedback on performance gaps; and provide coaching to minimize gaps and prepare the employee to meet personal and company goals.
This position reports into the Area Technical Solutions Design Manager for LAC Commercial Operations. This individual is accountable for establishing the sales revenue and margin of Total Lab Solutions which will include but not be limited to: lab systems and automation lines of business for Abbott Diagnostics LAC Commercial Operations.
They are responsible for achieving or exceeding these metrics on an annual basis. This individual is also accountable for the hiring; development and retention of both their direct and indirect reports. Impact of actions will be measured on a quarterly and annual basis and will be reflected in merits; compensation plans and annual performance reviews.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degreerequired (4 years college or equivalent).
