Great opportunity for an  HR professional to make his/her mark.  Leading food distribution company is hiring a Director, HR who will be the top HR person for the company.

You will start out as a solo contributor working at a 100 person distribution center in a city in Idaho.  Focus will be on developing and implementing creative HR programs and policies at this site, then fine-tuning and eventually, introduce in approximately 12 company locations.

Priorities:  Iimprove the hiring and selection process, improve training of supervisors and employees, and develop effective retention programs.

This is a steadily growing company,  that has a unique culture. Annual turnover in the other facilities averages less than   5% which is unheard of in this industry.  The culture is one where employee input is sought, and where the president of the company will accept calls from any team member at any location. If you are a fit to this position, then you will have worked in a union free organization where employee empowerment is embraced.

You will be an important member of the management team.  The sky’s the limit, as you prove yourself.

Here’s a description of the  ideal candidate:

College graduate withHRexperience which will include 3 or more years in a leadership position; Master's degree very desirable.

Comfort level, and past experience, working with closely with hourly workers while also contributing as a key member of the management team.

SHRP-SCP and/or SHRM-CP certification.

Broad experience in most, if not all, HR specialties such as staffing, training, benefits, safety, associate relations, compensation, performance management, HRIS compliance and employment law.

Compensation is open and the employee benefits are outstanding

Let me emphasize that this position is for a high achiever who has the knowledge, confidence, and ability to develop and implement effective HR programs.  No one has been in this role as it is new to the company.  Sound good?  I’d like to hear from you now.
