Job Description
The Tooling Engineer will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL will execute complex injection molding tooling projects for Medical and Consumer Products and collaborate with suppliers, customers, and team members. Your projects and customers extend beyond your office, and it's your job to contribute to projects from initial conception to completion.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
- Manage large injection mold tooling projects
- Coordinate with other team members as needed during mold qualification, sampling and final part approval
- Ability to quote large injection mold tooling projects, including required auxiliary equipment
- Involvement in troubleshooting issues with production molds
- Develop outside tooling sources as needed
- Coordinate tool repair activity as needed
- Coordinate mold design reviews with tool vendors
- Coordinate implementation of cost-effective tool design changes
- Involvement in DFM/FMEA activities both internally and with customers
- Provide status reports to management and customers as needed
- Provide support to Engineering Manager as needed
- Travel Required, 25%
Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
- B.A. or B.S. in Engineering or related field or relevant work experience
- Must have at least 8 years of experience in plastic injection mold manufacturing
- Should have relevant experience in a regulated industry (medical, automotive, electronics) - medical preferred
- Experience in qualification of complex, high cavitation, tight tolerance injection molds
- Min 5 years of experience with validation activities
- Knowledge of the regulatory and cGMP regulations for medical device manufacturing operations, and validation procedures and practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and communication skills required
- Demonstrate knowledge of Injection Mold Design and Injection Mold Processing techniques
- Knowledge of statistics
Here are a few of our preferred experiences:
- Prefer prior experience with Pharmaceutical/Medical Device industry
- CQE a major plus
- History with TMV (test method validation)
