Test Equipment Systems Engineer

As a Test Equipment Systems Engineer, you will be involved with the phases in product design and development in which the newly designed systems must undergo rigorous performance and environmental testing to verify conformance to design requirements and at times extensive responsibility for production preparation. When conducted at the component or subassembly level, the test results often direct the final product design approach. When conducted at the system level, test results verify design concept and often serve as a milestone event in initiating company commitment to initial hardware manufacturing.   When problems arise you'll be expected to investigate the system and isolate the components or combination of components at fault and often makes subsequent design changes or recommendations to the system's responsible engineer. Additionally, this position requires you to be a key contributor to deployment of our Test Equipment(TE) Systems at various customers around the world, upgrading them when needed, maintaining them under service contracts, and building intimate customer relationships on the front line.
Responsibilities:

  • Travel to many customer facilities around the world and install new TE and troubleshoot customer issues
  • Perform upgrades and maintenance of our TE, keeping it in top operating condition and visually appealing
  • Develop strong relationships with the customers and users of the TE
  • Identify sales opportunities while on travel for Moog's sales engineers to pursue
  • Assist in debugging and troubleshooting new development and production test equipment
  • Isolate test failures to the test equipment, conduct diagnostic testing to suggest possible corrective action and consult with test equipment designers on implementation of required design changes
  • Lead and complete planned test activities
  • Prepare test programs
  • Design and assemble complex mechanical/electrical test setups
  • Instrumentation and technically directing the day to day activities of supporting engineeringtechnicians and assemblers
  • Assure the completeness and accuracy of test program data and records
    monitor test results and data for trends and early indications of product deficiencies
  • Prepare and conduct diagnostic testing to isolate failures and test possible corrective action design changes
  • Assist the Project/Design Engineer in analyzing and interpreting test data and implement corrective action based on test data and product experience.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or ElectricalEngineering 2-3 years of development laboratory experience or an Associate’s degree 5 – 10 years of related experience
  • Basic knowledge of closed loop control systems
  • Mechanical electrical hardware design experience
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Travel - US & International
