Technical Supervisor will supervise shop operations, in a safe and efficient manner, to ensure customer expectations for quality and delivery are met at all times while acting as a technical resource for shop personnel, customers, and technical planning personnel


  • Supervises all shop operations in accordance with budget requirements and company policies and procedures including production scheduling based on staff availability and machine capacity, also supervises the weekend emergency call process, ensuring that appropriate resources are available to meet customer expectations at all times while driving the continuous improvement of shop operations
  • Supervises the safe operation of the shop, including participation in the company safety committee, as well as the maintenance of company housekeeping standards in all operations areas
  • Responsible to inform Plant Manager ( or General Manager) of all production related issues in a timely fashion
  • Supervises the maintenance and safe operation of the company truck fleet
  • Supervises the maintenance of all shop equipment and machinery, including measuring equipment, as well as maintaining adequate stocks of shop materials and supplies required to meet customer expectations in a timely, high-quality manner
  • Interacts with planners, inspectors, and supervisors to resolve pre-production and production issues connected to customer specification issues, job quotes, etc.
  • Communicates with customers by phone, onsite, or at the customer location as needed to meet customer expectations in a timely, high-quality manner
  • Supervises the production reporting process, ensures all shop paperwork is accurate and Participants in the selection, performance appraisal, discipline, training, and development of all shop personnel in conjunction with the Plant Manager or General Manager, as applicable
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • A Bachelor?s degree in an applicable discipline is preferred but not required
  • Prior management/supervisory experience is required in a precision machining environment
  • Strong precision machining environment required, including demonstrated hands-on precision machining experience particularly with large rotating components, electricalexperience a plus
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written are required
  • Strong basic math and computer skills are required
  • Occasional overnight travelrequired
