The Technical Strategy Specialist is a position that requires an experienced professional to assist with the day-to-day functions of the Technical Strategy team. The position will be located at the NASA SEWP Program Management Office (PMO) in Greenbelt, MD.


  • Develop and execute queries for data maintenance, statistical reporting and ad-hoc requests
  • Review delivery orders for scope
  • Assist with the review and approval of technology refresh (TR) requests
  • Provide input on the requirements and design of development projects
  • Conduct customer follow-up on strategic IT procurement opportunities
  • Provide professional customer relationship experiences
  • Work with external partners, including federal agencies and vendors, to review technical specifications of requirements to arrive at the most appropriate system or integration of multiple systems
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies such as mobility and current trends in the IT Industry
  • Maintain strong customer relationships, track all activities in CRM tools including status updates and notes/future activities
  • Participate and represent the SEWP PMO in meetings with high level customer staff
  • Participation at events, trainings, and conferences as appropriate
  • Attend conferences/meetings and report relevant information to program staff
  • Develop and document processes and procedures
  • Ability to travel locally (10%) / within CONUS (5%)
  • Other duties as assigned


  • SQL knowledge is required: 2+ years
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in technology related activities
  • Experience in or knowledge of the federal government acquisition/contracting industry is a plus
  • Oracle knowledge is a plus
  • TOAD experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of current IT industry and trends
  • Basic desktop IT skills, with strong focus on MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.) and familiarity with other desktop applications is required
  • Self-starter, creative problem solver
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Ability to work in customer-oriented environment
  • Ability to excel in a team-focused environment
  • Ability and desire to grow into a leadership role
  • Knowledge of United States government contracting is preferred

  • Experience in mobility and other areas of technology


  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a comparable discipline
