What You'll Do

You will be passionate about working with global service providers to develop, design and articulate optical transport network solutions. You have a deep understanding of Cisco’s solutions and your focus is to develop solutions that allow our customers to implement a next generation framework across major network boundaries/domains and drive solutions. You will communicate with roles ranging from individual contributor focused resources to Line of Business executives.

Who You Are

You know how to provide detailed consultative solutions, technical and sales support for selected account opportunities and you understand business requirements for the customer base and translate them into technical requirements. You understand and articulate Cisco's Architectures and Services and facilitate better communications and understanding of customer requirements between customers, corporate and the field. You build, present and document technical solutions and you perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects. You drive identified account opportunities while allowing account team to retain ownership.

  • You will provide support to team specialists and Systems Engineers and mentor Systems Engineers in the assigned opportunities and be viewed as a leader by senior management, peers, partners and customers.
  • You will publish white papers on given topics for internal or external use.
  • You bring together product requirements from field and customer and submit findings to relevant BUs and Boards and Councils to drive Area or Operation business requirements.

Our minimum requirements for this role:

  • You have experience with Optical Transport, DWDM, TDM/SONET/SDH/PDH and IP/MPLS Networking.
  • You are experienced in selling Optical Transport networking technologies at the engineering level through the CxO level.
  • Have detailed knowledge of relevant solutions sets, product line specifications, performance criteria and applications. Thorough knowledge in Optical Transport and TDM Networking - including solutions, technology and product offerings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills with validated technical knowledge and consultative skills and the ability to train and disseminate information within the area.

Cisco Experience preferred:

  • Cisco TDM-IP Migration solution experiece desired.
  • Competitor product experience desired Alcatel/Lucent, Nortel, Ciena and others a plus.
  • Pre- and Post-Sales experience required.
  • BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent and 10+ years related experience.
  • MEF certification highly desirable.
