 Mitel is looking for a Technical Publications Manager to join our team. As a Technical Publications Manager, you will play an integral role in the business by delivering project that result in achieving critical strategic goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business efficiency. You will be involved in the definition, planning, management, and delivery of various projects that enable Mitel to expand its portfolio and its footprint in premise, hybrid, and cloud solutions.

We are looking for a Technical Publications Manager to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. You will join a team of talented tech writers who work collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make our products easier to use. You will be part of an experienced, accomplished team who engage broadly across Mitel.

 Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the process of technical publications from planning to delivery
  • Define and maintain the information architecture with a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
  • Define standards and quality assurance for publications, including updates
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an understanding of the documentation requirements
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
  • Plan, develop, organize, and document operational procedures and manuals
  • Review manuals and data to ensure editorial and format consistency
  • Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of technical publications status throughout its life cycle
  • Recognize and coordinate appropriate escalations
  • Support identification of organizational & business improvement opportunities using quantitative analysis to drive decision making
  • Develop knowledge of systems, network software, hardware, database and applications, as well as, hardware/software configurations

 Requirements:

  • 5+ year’s proven working experience in technical writing
  • Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development
  • Stakeholder management skills working with operational, development and non-technical teams
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint
  • Self-motivated and highly ambitious
  • Fun loving, positive attitude – excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with products deployed in both premise and cloud solutions, and for cloud based service offers in the Telecom industry
  • Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking

 Education:

  • Engineering or Computer Science degree or equivalent technical experience
