Collins Aerospace is looking for a Technical Publications Manager to lead a team of direct reports responsible for Technical Illustrations, Technical Writing, Parts Compiling, andSpares Analysis for the Airbus and Business Jet Programs .

Position is currently working remote. May need to work onsite in a hybrid capacity when circumstances permit.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for team activity management including but not limited to On-Time Delivery (OTD) and quality
  • Responsible for the management of development program publications within budget
  • Provide financial input into LEs for development programs
  • Drive continuous improvement around productivity and management tools
  • Coordinate work packages with GEC-I for support on out of production programs and ad-hoc projects
  • Key point of contact for Airbus and Business Jet internal and external customers for Technical Publications
  • Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts.
  • Conducts quality review of materials.
  • Support distribution of technical materials through appropriate media channels.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident Green Card holder
  • Experience working as a lead or manager facilitating multiple projects
  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Possess technical writing and PC skills
  • Familiarity with aircraft structures and systems
  • Knowledge in technical understanding of maintenance, repair, and regulatory requirements in the commercial aircraft industry
  • Experience with publication software and portals.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools
  • Able to communicate and make presentations to internal/external senior level leadership and customers.
  • Able to travel up to 5% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer technical publications within the aerospace industry
  • Experience with Corena, ISO Draw, XML, Arbor Text, or Frame Maker or any other software
  • Nacelle experience
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or ACE
  • Familiar with FAA regulations, FAR 33 & FAR 25
  • Familiar with iSpec2200 and S1000D guidelines.
