Job Description

A successful candidate usually helps oversee the cohesion of multiple technology/service verticals and they should be the guiding light on the Agile methodology. They are the stabilizing and negotiating hand that ensure teams are operating with synergy and maintaining an ongoing dialogue with key stakeholders.

Specific Responsibilities:

Encourage business acumen and digital acumen across scrum teams
Understand and support portfolio work in ServiceNow PPM and Agile modules
Manage the flow of work through the sprints or kanban
Partner with Business Systems Manager to make sure that there are enough features ready in the backlog at all times. For example, they have feature acceptance criteria that can be used to establish that it meets its Definition of Done (DoD)
Provide cradle to grave releases that includes new features, architecture, and allocations for technical debt. This is accomplished through a series of releases, whose definition and business objectives are determined by Business System Managers and business stakeholders.
Scrum Master will be key to ensure scrum teams provide efficient and effective development. Such a team also contributes materially to the job satisfaction that comes with being part of a high-performing team, one that routinely delivers on its quality and vision commitments.
Conduct daily standups, releases, retrospective
Timely coaching scrum leads and team members
Act as primary escalation point for all issues and problems
Understand business requirements and define scope
Facilitates scrum ceremonies and events
Prepare project plan along with estimations resource planning
Identify project risks and plan for their mitigation, contingencies and production readiness
Full time engaged on a daily basis with scrum team ideally dedicated
Monitors the progress of the sprint
Helps scrum teams estimate, increase velocity and report progress key performance indicators
Manage bugs, emergency of the day and other ad-hoc requests
Motivates the team
Acts as the glue that holds the team together
Promotes continuous communication
Facilitates sprint planning and other scrum meetings
Monitors and helps improve team dynamics
Lends support to whatever part of the project needs assistance at a certain time
Coordinate with the other IT team members to schedule resources across Engineering, Security, Service Desk organizations
Collaborate with Engineering, Security and Service Desk teams to effectively translate business requirements into functional requirements that team members can understand and take concrete
action on
Manage the process for handling changing business requirements through the course of multiple active IT projects
Ensure quality of formal test plans for technology solutions based on business requirements
Manage relationships with and provide direction to 3rd party consultants engaged to help implement and configure technology solutions, customize vendor software, etc.

Job Requirements and competencies:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required; graduate/advanced degree and/or PMP certification
highly preferred
8+ years of experience working with clients in a consultative manner to solve business problems using technology
and data-driven techniques
3+ years of experience in Agile Methodology (kanban and scrum)
Certified Scrum Master
Prior use of JIRA and CONFLUENCE or similar tools
Working knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework
Entrepreneurial mindset
Strong expertise in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts preferred
Proven ability to “delight” clients through excellent customer service
Proven ability to apply critical thinking with natural curiosity to distill detailed functional requirements for technology solutions based on input from business systems managers and business users
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to translate technical or abstract concepts into a narrative that is intuitive to clients
Proven ability to present complex data in a visual format that is intuitive to clients
Proven ability to lead small teams to deliver results in a timely and effective manner
Proven ability to manage projects in a self-directed manner
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
Minimal travel required
