Specific duties include:

  • Scale the unique manufacturing process to meet current and future demands.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
  • Establish key performance indicators and drive shop floor metrics to lead improvements
  • in quality, productivity, on-time delivery and cost reduction.
  • Provide leadership and establish high performance standards and accountability at every level on the team.
  • Set priorities and oversee the collaboration between operations, production planning, quality, purchasing and HR to positively affect operational efficiency
  • Ensure annual Organization Development plans are in place, including individual development and including succession planning
  • Responsible for staffing allocations between all production programs to maximize efficiency.
  • Serve as a key link between all functions of the business as they support the manufacturing process.
  • Execute planned production for current and upcoming production programs.
  • Drive production organization in execution of timely deliveries that support production program requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation of manufacturing schedules, personnel requirements, quality assurance, production standards and safety programs.
  • Direct and coordinate the production activities so that the manufacturing of products meets quality standards and cost objectives.
  • Develop plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
  • Drive accountability throughout the operation.
  • Create and maintain a positive team culture enabling the operation site to act as a high performing team
  • Communicate the annual goals and strategies to the team to motivate, provide direction and align efforts
  • Create a culture focused on safety, quality, lean manufacturing and accountability.
  • Develop team members’ skills to expand their contribution, and prepare them for advancement.
  • Measure and monitor performance and address performance issues appropriately.
  • Assist senior management in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives
  • Achieve monthly output levels measured daily with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet budget
  • Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation
  • Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.)
  • Initiate and coordinate major projects, (e.g., new facility(s) selection, plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, expenses, etc.)
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing and customer support in shaping growth agenda and related plans and priorities
  • Partner ME’s to implement new process developments, improve existing process, and broaden the process capabilities

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated leadership in driving change throughout the organization or department.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and production concepts and practices.
  • Capable of planning and organizing work and processes; ability to direct multiple projects and meet deadlines Assist senior management in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing and customer support in shaping growth agenda and related plans and priorities
  • Partner with engineering managers to improve existing process, and broaden the process capabilities
  • Financial acumen for planning and managing operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/language skills required to include the ability to provide written and verbal instructions, compile and present business reports/ correspondence, present information clearly and effectively provide direction and present business information and updates.
  • Interpersonal and supervisory skills, such as emotional competency, coaching, providing feedback, and evaluating performance of subordinates, and the ability to coach and motivate employees.
  • Capable of planning and organizing work and processes; ability to direct multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and reasoning ability for problem solving, strategic planning and creativity/innovation, and excellent judgment for complex decisions.

 

 

Education Requirements:  

  • 15+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • Background in operations knowledge, such as quality assurance, ISO.
  • BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Master’s degree in Business or Logistics preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience overseeing staff (facility, equipment maintenance, production) and managing machining centers in a production facility.
  • Proven ability to manage high growth, rapid expansion in an automated environment.
  • Expertise is Low Volume High Mix manufacturing
  • Proven superior process control, diagnostic, problem solving skills.
  • Proven and hands on experience conceptualizing, designing, implementing and managing new projects and operational processes, ideally in a compressed timeframe.
  • Strong background implementing lean manufacturing concepts including, implementing principles into manufacturing processes.
