DESCRIPTION

The Technical Manager – Public Safety GIS will deliver innovative technology solutions and provide operational assistance to an existing client base. This will be done through managing NG911 scopes of work to provide quality deliverables as well as the following items:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Office Manager, Market Makers, Project Managers, GIS Specialists and GIS Developers
  • Assist Project Managers in technical management of projects scope of work and tasks
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced personnel on specific tasks
  • Satisfy project requirements by ensuring that quality standards and deadlines are met or exceeded
  • Stay knowledgeable of trends and current developments in NG911 and GIS technologies
  • Perform hands-on technical tasks as needed to achieve project goals
  • Participate in internal and external professional development activities
  • Prepare scope of work and cost estimates for proposals
  • Assist Manager and Market Makers with business development goals
  • Travel to client sites when necessary
  • Other duties as required

 

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Systems, Geography, or related discipline. Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • 7-10 years of experience managing projects scope of work for local government contracts
  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation and writing skills
  • Detailed understanding of local government business processes
  • Database experience to include SQL Server and/or Oracle
  • Experience with ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS web applications
  • Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) and Emergency Number Professionals (ENP) certifications are desired
  • Skilled at analyzing complex geospatial and business processes
