Industrial Manufacturing Company is looking for:

 

POSITION: Technical Manager (Engineering and Maintenance)

LOCATION: Lithia Springs Georgia (Atlanta)

SALARY: $105-115K + Bonus

DEGREE:  Preferred

EXPERIENCE: 5+ Years Engineering and Maintenance Leadership Manufacturing Industry

RELOCATION: Assistance available

 

Key Requirements

Must be familiar with troubleshooting PLCs

Must have lean manufacturing preferably TPM

Strong Budget and departmental P&L

Someone that will have the ability to move into a Plant Manager role

The Technical Manager provides leadership to the Manufacturing Engineers he/she leads and the Maintenance group. He/She develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. He/she will implement TPS measures and will be measured by Quality, Cost, Delivery metrics as directed by the Director.

Essential Job Functions:

Carries out process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training

Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency

Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment

Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment

Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results

Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods

Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency

Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams

Responsible for the development of engineering masters/manufacturing instructions using manufacturing engineering practices

Prepare quotations for labor, tooling and equipment to support the business unit requirements.

Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews

Evaluate and approve drawings, routings/MI's, specs and other documents

Design and procure tools/equipment

Write appropriation requests

Evaluate and solve production problems

Train assemblers or conduct training to introduce new processes

Prepare/manufacture prototypes as required utilizing the principals of concurrent engineering

Knowledge/Skills:

7-10 years maintenance and engineering leadership

Background in TPM and lean manufacturing is required

Excellent math skills

Good computer skills including Outlook, Word and Excel

Must have the ability to effectively communicate by written and verbal

Ability to work in a team environment or independently with little or no supervision

Use of good judgment and decision making skills

Ability to multitask

Must be able to manage time

Must have adaptability/flexibility

Accuracy with a strong attention to detail

Education:

Bachelor's degreepreferred but not required

Minimum of five years' experience in manufacturing.
