Position Summary:

  • Participate in T&D environmental management projects such as vegetation management, reclamation, siting, pollinators, GIS, remote sensing,  UAS, avian/animal interactions, artificial intelligence (AI), and PCBs with T&D equipment and wind turbines.  May also include various groundwater and land projects, such as groundwater management and remediation, coal combustion product (CCP) management, and legacy site closure
  • Assist Project/Program Managers in conducting large projects, including formulating technical approaches, preparing proposals and technical presentations/papers, and reviewing/preparing technical reports
  • Manage small projects in conjunction with a technical specialist/program manager
  • Has excellent oral and written communications skills, including reviewing as well as preparing proposals and technical reports
  • Ability to work well with others, including EPRI staff, contracted resources, EPRI members, and scientific community


  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as engineering, environmental science or equivalent experience.  Preferably a master’s degree

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5 -7 or more years of research and development project and promotional experience, including development of advanced concepts for internal research or equivalent experience
  • Shows technical expertise and assumes responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives using creative imaginative solutions
  • Experience in performing and/or managing research activities
  • Incumbents must be able to exercise judgment, diligence, and attention to detail and demonstrate an aptitude for carrying out responsible technical assignments
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Manages projects and may work in conjunction with a technical specialist
  • Understand how work fits across EPRI programs

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has power company T&D environmental and groundwater & land management experience either by working at a power company and/or being a vendor/consultant to power companies
  • Has excellent oral and written communications skills, including technical presentations
  • Ability to work collaboratively well with others
  • Is willing to travel for at least 25% of time
