Responsibilities

Technical Instructor/Course Developer

Noblis is seeking a Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Systems (CANES) Technical Instructor/Course Developer to support Navy Tactical Networks (TACNET) classroom and on-the-job training (OJT). Candidate must be able to conduct traditional classroom training, support curriculum development, and provide OJT on CANES loading and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will provide dynamic teaching, training, and assessments that require advanced knowledge of the U.S. Navy CANES program.
  • Conducts formal classroom training on CANES systems, including server, storage, and network capabilities.
  • Conducts dynamic assessments of sailors’ abilities to comply with approved maintenance and operational procedures and, thereafter, provides formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain technical and tactical proficiency.
  • Prepares, reviews, and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides to support traditional classroom teaching.
  • Supports course reviews and curriculum updates, conducts training gap analysis, and provides formal feedback and recommendation for course improvements.
  • Establishes and reviews course content and objectives.
  • Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
  • Conducts OJT onboard ships and at shore sites.
  • Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.


Qualifications

Required skills and knowledge:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, electronics, surveying, aeronautics, or structural engineering (ships), with hands on practical experience with techniques being taught, researching latest technical discipline practices, establishing training needs, developing goals and objectives, and developing training programs. A minimum of six years of esperience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • One year of experience as an instructor in a Navy training environment, including demonstrated presentation skills, public speaking, and curriculum maintenance; writing learning objectives; preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials, and assessing the results of instruction; and counseling students on academic learning problems.
  • Must be IAT II certified, including current/active CompTIA Security+ certification and be able to provide certification verification.
  • Experience as Naval trainer/instructor in support of server-based programs.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI access, eligibility to obtain SCI access without waiver.

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
