Purpose of Job:

In this role, you will be responsible for research and analysis leading to the definition of requirements and processes to assist in the resolution of complex business problems for the Banks Global Capital Markets business line. 

You will also be responsible for participating in the development and testing of systems or enhancements, the training of users, and providing ongoing support to all supported units worldwide. Further, you will be required to interfacing with technical support teams to ensure system stability and business continuity. 

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Ability to resolve complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs of Global Banking & Markets, by applying their financial and technological knowledge to the design of systems solutions, methodologies, and/or processes.  This may involve rapid prototyping, with requirements and solutions developed on an iterative basis that provides interim deliverables until a final production solution is created. This includes conducting research and analysis, accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes, and liaising with the users.
  • Participate in the systems implementation process by developing test cases, performing testing, defining user procedures and workflows, developing conversion and implementation strategies, verifying conversion, providing user documentation, providing user training, and providing post-implementation support.
  • Provide business support to all global units, including new and existing product and deal structuring, ad hoc queries and MIS, user training, and assisting with the design and implementation of systems enhancements. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that management is kept informed and that problems and issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the Division's business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective business solutions and services to the end user business lines

Minimum Requirement:

  • Advanced knowledge of the syndicated corporate loan market, Credit Derivatives and Equity derivative products
  • Knowledge of capital markets and wholesale operational processes & controls 
  • The ability to effectively interact with technical audiences and comprehend technical concepts and terminology
  • Knowledge of requirements gathering, design methodology and building test cases - detail oriented, analytical and capable of  investigating complex  / technical issues and provide alternative solutions, project methodologies including SDLC, Agileexperience would be an asset to the role
  • A minimum of 3-5 Years of industry related experience

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working with or providing system support for Wall Street Office (WSO) would be an asset
  • Technical knowledge of Citrix and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and experience working with applications deployed on these platforms would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of capital markets and wholesale operational processes & controls 
  • A recognized under-graduate degree in business, econometrics, mathematics or a related discipline, along with 3-5 years of practical experience is required.
  • A recognized post-graduate or Master’s degree in business, computer science, finance, mathematics, CFA and/or FRM would be an asset.
