As Team Leader role, lead and direct all packaging engineering activities (multiple brands) that are part of the New Product Development Process, Engineering Changes, or cost reduction project teams for power tool accessory products. Help define packaging requirements and develop structures (primary and secondary) withmarketing to meet targeted quality appearance, cost, transit test requirements and launch date. May include internal development or working with3rd parties to develop packaging designs and prepress artwork. Includes writing material specifications for all packaging material so Purchasing can submit request for quotes. Receive, review and approve die line drawings. Manage Packaging Engineers and Prepress Graphic Designers. Manage departmental and tooling budgets. Work with Cross Functional teams to define timelines and meet project objectives. Process/Review engineering change notices to add packaging die lines and artwork to the Global Database.
Prepare product comps (mockups) for customer presentations that include development of new packaging structures and artwork that are innovative and differentiate companies accessory product in the market place. Work collaborativelywith Global Packaging Accessory Organization to meet Global objectives, utilizing global packaging platforms and processes. Exchange information and coordinate with Global Product Platform Pkg Engineering Leads. Define North American regional targets/projects to keep Packaging Engineering current with market technologies, cost competitive, and innovative in processes and products.
-Professional competence to include:?8-10 years experience in packaging engineering and 5-7years project management. Minimum education requirements is a Bachelordegree, preferred is a Master's degree in packaging engineering and/or MBA. Deep knowledge for packaging technologies, late stage customizing and cost savings. Familiarity working with manufacturing operations executing packaging. Knowledge of Printing as well as Structural Development of packaging.
-Personal competence to include strong communication skills & negotiation capabilities when dealing with different stakeholders and teams. Ability to be able to effectively and efficiently present up/down and across the organization as well as to global suppliers. Self-directed, goal-oriented, analytical, & highly organized individual who works well in and promotes a strongly structured way of working. Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) minded. German language capability a plus.
