Position Summary

Engineering Team Lead directly and indirectly manages a team of engineering, project management, and administrative and design personnel to achieve revenue, gross margin, customer satisfaction index targets, quality, productivity and other business objectives. Manages a multi-disciplined team to deliver projects on time and in or under budget. Additionally, this position requires team resource planning such as assigning direct reports to projects, assessing staffing levels and utilization among other duties.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Functional 
?Oversees customer's requirements and the development of system solution and its applicable control configuration/architecture
?Develops and executes industry / application team plan 
?Understands different project scopes and knows when a change request is required
?Actively contributes to the development of business team strategic plan
?Coordinates resources between different teams and projects
?Solves complex business problems associated with assigned business segment from order execution through startup.
?May participate in the identification, implementation, and successful proliferation of focused applications in the assigned industry/application
?Anticipates the need for change and supports and promotes company-wide programs, strategies, and initiatives. 
?Develops and / or assists with developing business unit engineering standards and ensures the team maintains compliance.

•Leadership
?Oversees process improvement activities within relevant business scope
?Takes ownership for results and drives issues toward resolution
?Ensures conformance of all team activities to proper safety and quality standards
?Responsible for coaching and development of direct reports. 

•Interpersonal
?Responsible for resource planning like project team assignment
?Works with direct reports to address training gaps and development
?Fosters open communication with team members to promote positive work environment 


•Business 

?Demonstrates business acumen with the ability to lead teams
?Responsible for all performance aspects related to assigned business segment
?Supports and helps implement business wide strategies 
?Builds partnerships with key customers and responsible for results of customer satisfaction surveys for assigned business segment.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :  
•Bachelor degree in Engineering discipline.
•Requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in management.
•Requires a minimum of 8 years’ experience with drive systems
•Requires a minimum of 8 years’ experience with control systems application.
•Requires a minimum of 8 years’ experience with direct customer contact and supplies

•Desired Qualifications:  
?Further education in business administration, management, operations, or project management is desirable.
?Proven success at simultaneously managing multiple customer projects.
?Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays to meet business commitments. 
?Knowledge of Allen-Bradley Powerflex drives, and PLC’s.  Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to industrial control systems including the NEC, NFPA79 and UL508A.
?PMP or PE certifications
Experience with AutoCAD, NEWS, IFS, and SAP.
