Responsible for creating and maintaining application software that is used to operate Stratasys 3D printing products, including GrabCAD Print, Community, and Workbench. This person translates requirements into specifications, design, and final product, optimizing new technology and existing code base within the constraints of budget and schedule. This individual will work within a team environment using Scrum and must positively influence collaboration and process improvement. This employee will be responsible for writing efficient, maintainable code in cross-platform Javascript and ES6, CSS, Ruby on Rails (version 3 and higher), and other programming languages, as needed. This person will perform duties in the capacity of a Project Manager with a team of engineers who work on user-facing features and oversee changes and improvements in the development process. In this role, this person will manage backlogs and is responsible for planning work and prioritizing projects. Build and deliver software that revolutionizes how things are made. Use web technologies to deliver desktop user experiences.

Collaborate with our designers, product managers, and other engineers on your team to solve tough problems in 3D printing. Design highly-scalable systems and APIs to work with front-end applications. Identify and address performance issues. Encourage good architecture patterns for long-term maintenance and extensibility. Analyze, develop and implement the framework used to coordinate the software development processes related to GrabCAD’s products and services.

Oversees the project plans and communication among team members through meetings, sprints, planning sessions, release planning and demos to enable successful function of Scrum process and procedures. Analyzes, oversees and monitors the performance of the Scrum teams, identifies problems and impediments, and recommends improvements and changes. Work closely with the product management team to identify, clarify and define user needs and requirements, and perform feasibility analysis of them.   Oversees teams of professionals in completing project work. Mentor and educate your peer engineers. Assist with recruiting and hiring for the Software Engineer and intern positions in the Boston Software R&D office. Utilize problem-solving skills and work cross-functionally and cross-site. Deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes. Write testable, resilient, documented code with effective unit and integration tests.

Job requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science and 3 years of experience in software development or engineering; Experience to include working with/building large-scale distributed systems, complex desktop applications or software that supports hardware products; and experience with Javascript, node.js, Ruby, C, C++, C#, Java, .NET, SQL databases, ElasticSearch; working on SaaS applications running Amazon Web Services, agile development methodologies; and scrum methodologies. International travelrequired.
