We are looking for a highly-driven Tax Operations Manager to join our Tax team. This position will work closely with members of US and international tax teams, as well as cross-functional business teams.  The candidate will be expected to anticipate and surface issues, recommend solutions, research and solve problems, and support go-to-market, and exercise good business judgment while performing these functions.  

Candidate should have in-depth tax technical knowledge with experience evaluating and advising on business initiatives, contemplated transactions, and business proposals.  The candidate must be a self-starter, capable of working with limited direction while taking full ownership of their areas of responsibility, and have strong communication skills to facilitate information flow between various functional teams, including Engineering, Product, Business and Finance. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business partners and members of the US and international tax department to provide advice on business initiatives and assist with full tax integration of such initiatives
  • Partner with product management organizations as well as platform and product engineering teams to provide taxsupport with end-to-end full life cycle of product deployment, including but not limited to design review, testing, launch, tax functionality, reporting and compliance
  • Build and strengthen working relationships with business teams, and bring tax awareness and champion tax requirements
  • Work with finance and accounting teams to implement and improve end-to-end tax process and procedures to mitigate risks
  • Perform research and analysis on business initiatives, and maintain documented tax technical advice and update relevant stakeholders as appropriate
  • Provide day-to-day operational guidance and timely address cross-functional finance and business team inquiries
  • Some international and US travels expected

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of taxexperience in a corporate environment, public accounting firm and/or law firm.  Experience at fast-paced, multinational high-tech companies is highly preferred
  • Strong foundation of tax technical knowledge with experience evaluating and advising on US and international business initiatives
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work.  Effective time management and prioritization skills in managing multiple projects are essential to the success of this role
  • Proven ability to think strategically while also engaging in day-to-day tactical details
  • Proven ability to identify and manage tax and execution risks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, with cross functional teams, upper management, and outside consultants
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management while at the same time able to work independently to resolve tax issues
