Position DescriptionThe Tax Manager oversees tax planning of entities by interpreting tax regulations. The Tax Manager also completes all appropriate tax returns and ensures compliance with relevant IRS regulations. The Tax Manager also advises on appropriate tax strategies for the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepares U.S. Federal, State, Local and Special Tax returns by collecting, analyzing and formatting financial information- Assistance with preparation of Canada Federal and Provincial tax returns- Assistance with preparation of Puerto Rico tax return- Respond and communicate with IRS and state agency audits, inquiries and tax notices- Assistance with preparation of R&D tax credits for U.S. and Canada- Research and support of tax issues of acquisitions- Conduct tax research on business issues, as needed- Complies with federal, state, and local requirements by studying regulations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions; communicating with attorneys, and tax specialists- Prepare and review tax calculations, estimates and report accruals- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements- Bachelor's Degree from credited four-year college or university in Accounting; Master's Degree in Business Taxation preferred- Valid CPA's license- Minimum of five years accounting experience with corporate tax returns
