  • Guide and review Federal & State Income Tax Returns prepared by junior team members
  • Affirm budgeted engagement hours and deadline
  • Prepare and/or review Income Tax Provision work papers
  • Assist in tax planning, research and tax return audits to deliver a product that you can be proud of and that meets or exceeds our client's expectations.
  • Assist multiple client service teams on multiple engagements assuring timely billing, collections and support of operational processes
  • Manage both internal and external scheduling deadlines
  • Lead by example to positively impact employee morale and adhere to MCG's core values
  • Inspire and mentor junior staff members to enable them to reach their maximum potential providing constructive feedback as necessary
  • Regularly look for opportunities, recommendations, and additional firm services that could benefit client
  • Represent the firm in community activities and professional associations


Minimum Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without future sponsorship
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active CPA license
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting or related industry experience
  • 3+ years' experience reviewing corporate federal and state tax returns
  • Experience with ASC740/FAS 109 income tax provisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (public speaking skills a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Must be highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks in a complex, dynamic environment
  • Proficient knowledge of automated tax processing systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Supervises junior members, reviews their work for completeness and accuracy, and prepares it for client delivery
  • Work within tight deadlines and take responsibility for getting the job done in a timely manner
  • Ability for light travel

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Taxation
  • Strong leadership, communication, project management, and team building skills
  • Regularly looks for opportunities, recommendations, and additional firm services that could benefit client
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Is focused on developing technical skills and is committed to continuous performance improvement
  • Experience using GoSystems and/or CCH Pro Systems fx tax software.
