Baker Newman Noyes (BNN), an approximately 250-person accounting and consulting firm with offices in Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, is seeking a Tax Manager in its Portland, ME office.
ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Tax Managers are responsible for the management of all phases of tax compliance for assigned clients, and other client engagements for companies in a variety of industries. Managers participate in firm administration and management, including practice development, staff, and senior management, and other areas as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
•Generally, five or more years of experience in taxation with a public accounting firm
•Masters or other form of 150 college credit hours with requisite accounting related courses (Bachelor’s degrees may be considered in some situations)
•CPA certificate required

Tax Managers effectively supervise activities of the engagement team and review staff and senior work timely and thoroughly to ensure that objectives are achieved. They demonstrate the ability to manage multiple engagements to a successful and efficient completion. They generate, pursue, and assist in closing proposal opportunities with existing and/or potential clients. They are consistently viewed as highly responsive to the client’s needs and requests, and they effectively manage the client’s expectations and the day-to-day client relationship. Tax Managers meet time deadlines while also meeting or exceeding quality requirements. They motivate staff through their professional and technical reputation, enthusiasm, and positive attitude.
