Job Description:

Position Overview 
The Syva Sales Specialist position is a field based sales and account management role, responsible for the territory covering the state of Florida. Candidates must live in Virginia, West Virginia or North Carolina  and be willing to travel including 1-3 overnights per week.

The Syva Sales Specialist position is responsible for selling Siemens toxicology and drug testing portfolio including analyzers and reagents.  Current and potential accounts include hospitals, reference laboratories, toxicology laboratories, criminal justice courts including: drug, parole, and probation, drug treatment facilities and other drug testing markets within the territory. This position interacts in the field with Technical Application Specialists, Field Service Engineers, and Regional Sales Managers, as well as with administrative branches within Siemens. Externally the Sales Specialist interacts with all levels of employees and management at their current and prospect customer accounts and opportunities. The nature of these interactions include prospecting, relationship building, presenting and closing proposals, distributing up to date technical documentation, answering questions, solving problems, coordinating instrument demonstrations and installations, providing education on product information and ongoing management with current customers. 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience 
This position requires independent thinking, strong selling and problem solving skills, excellent communication and presentations skills. The sales process can be complex in nature and will involve answering questions on product performance, features and benefits, finance and pricing. At times account selling may be more complex and may require involvement of other Siemens counterparts. Candidates must be highly organized, proficient in Microsoft, able to work remotely, and utilize various software programs as there is need.  Effective performance is measured primarily by instrument and revenue sales to an annual sales plan. Candidate must have at least five years documented sales experience. A clean driving record over the last three years is required.


Candidates with prior toxicology or other laboratory diagnostic sales experience will be strongly preferred.
