This position will be focusing primarily on our Reserve Power applications, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.
This position supports the enabling of new technology through commercialization of reserve and motive power energy storage systems. This Systems Test Engineer will report to the Systems Engineering Manager and will be responsible for product test planning and testing to meet the certification and compliance landscape for different markets. The engineer fulfilling this role will effectively participate in concurrent complex projects with a focus on achieving technical and financial objectives by working closely with other engineers and scientists to verify compliance with product requirements. The successful candidate ideally should have working knowledge of or hands-on experience within the energy storage and power conversion space.
BS or MS in EE, Physics, Math or similar with 1-3 years’ experience in electrical engineering
1 to 3 years’ experience developing and/or testing product performance and safety to meet applicable industrial standards and government regulations
Experience with energy storage or renewable energy systems is desired
Experience with design modifications, including soldering components, assembly of wiring harnesses, and implementation of fixtures.
Experience with testing electrical systems / batteries including standard measurement and safety equipment for voltages up to 1000Vdc / 600Vac
Provides high integrity and oversight of processes protecting intellectual property
Have excellent problem solving skills and the ability to write technical documents clearly and concisely
