The Systems Support Analyst – Mortgage is responsible for mortgage applications administration, design and system support for BECU’s mortgage organization. This position supports communication regarding mortgage systems, enhanced processes or other applicable information to all impacted departments.    The Systems Support Analyst – Mortgage is responsible for designing software project development specifications in coordination with other Mortgage and IT staff, and provides expertise for software application updates.  This position serves as a technical liaison between the Mortgage organization’s leadership team and mortgage application vendors, specific to application design, deployment and integration, while providing application support for shared systems at BECU.


  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies and Information Protection requirements.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for routine mortgage systems usage issues.
  • Provide systems project development design knowledge, application administration/ design function support and technical project management to the Mortgage department.         
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of Credit Union mortgage policies, underwriting guidelines and procedures, and state/federal regulations, in order to coordinate the development, communications and enhancements of mortgage systems and processes in an accurate, professional and timely manner. 
  • Research, assess, recommend and implement programs/enhancements that ensure automation is leveraged to improve operations within the business unit and the Credit Union. 
  • Identify opportunities to enhance current software and department requirements and make recommendations for changes to software to enhance the module effectiveness.
  • Maintain knowledge of the different software packages used within the mortgage industry and within BECU’s Mortgage business unit.
  • Coordinate software enhancement requests between vendors, Mortgage leadership and the IT Department to ensure that they are effective, efficient and/or beneficial to the Credit Union.  
  • Serve as a technical and functional resource for cross-functional software development project team(s) as assigned.
  • Develop functional design requirements and specifications for systems implementation and/or enhancement projects.
  • Maintain vendor relationships including collaborating and resolving issues.
  • Coordinate software application version updates, patches, and fixes including end-user acceptance testing and documentation.
  • Communicate software project progress from beginning to completion to all required business units.   
  • Assist with the introduction and monitoring of new mortgage products and process enhancements.
  • Maintain effective communication with all Credit Union employees to ensure coordination and exchange of information for accomplishing Credit Union goals.

  • Perform additional duties as may be assigned.



  • Proficient PC skills, with the ability to learn new software.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in the English language.
  • Excellent product development skills with the ability to plan, organize and implement projects in a timely manner.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze a product or process and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Ability to work well independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgement in problem solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, management and vendors.
  • Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Computer Science or equivalent work or educational experience.
  • Minimum three years of mortgage lending systems experience at BECU or anotherfinancial institution
  • Experience working with the project implementation lifecycle, Project Managementexperiencepreferred.
  • Experience with SQL (database access syntax), as well as general computer programming skills.
