Position Summary:
The Systems Project Manager Senior is primarily focused on leading functional, cross-functional, and consultant/off-shore team members assigned throughout the duration of a project to ensure successful, on-time completion of project deliverables.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages multiple large and/or complex projects, typically through other project managers
Manages project issues by ensuring visibility, identifying stakeholders, determining root cause, facilitating solutions, driving to timely decision-making, and actively communicating to stakeholders
Prepares project deliverables (as applicable): project charter, business requirements definition, project plan, project status reports, project communication plan, risk and issue register and other related project management deliverables
Establishes project requirements, priorities and deadlines
Assists in developing the function’s policies and procedures and its financial, operating, and strategic plans
Evaluates, develops, and implements improvements to existing technology methods, approaches, and strategies
Leads managers and technical experts across multiple large and/or complex projects
Provides leadership, coaching, and guidance to project team members in the areas of project lifecycle, operating procedures, processes and practices
Develops, mentors, and trains assigned staff
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business
6 years related experience, focused on cross-functional application implementations or system integrations of medium to high level of complexity required
Solid knowledge and experience with project management methodologies
Experience working with technical product management teams
Experience developing test plans, test cases, and leading testing efforts
Preferred:
PMP and/or Agile/Scrum certifications
2+ years business/technical analyst experience preferred
Experience in application development, quality assurance testing or operational support
Experience using collaboration and work management platforms, TFS, Workfront, SharePoint, etc.
