LinQuest is seeking a Systems Network Engineer to join our team at our office in El Segundo, CA.
We are seeking a Systems Network Engineer to support DoD MILSATCOM programs in El Segundo, CA. You will be assigned to the network engineering team responsible for the development of requirements, system architecture, use cases for designing a network solution for MILSATCOM systems.
You will directly support all engineering disciplines in the development of Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs) and Interface Requirements Documents (ICDs) etc. You will work closely with the Cybersecurity team to ensure the network is hardened to meet security needs. You will collaborate with diverse teams of contractors, Government and FFRDC teams in the design, development and test activities.
Provide systems engineering and integration for MILSATCOM systems, including space, ground, and network communications systems
Support development of the technical requirements, interfaces, and architecture in a collaborative environment
Support development of SysML network diagrams
Collaborate closely with external stakeholders and government customers to ensure protocol and standards compliance
Monitor contractor design, integration and test progress
Support system integration, test planning and test execution activities that include developmental and operational test events
Candidate must be an independent problem solver with a variety of network engineering abilities, including knowledge and experience in IP networks, WANs, LANs, network security, access and monitoring controls on external connections, experience with network communications standards and protocols (802.1Q, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, SNMP, IPSec (VPNs, tunnels), etc.)
Candidate must have excellent oral/written communication skills and customer relationship skills
Candidate must be an independent problem solver, comfortable in a fast paced environment and be able to quickly adapt to emerging requirements and changing priorities
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline, or equivalent experience
3 to 5 years' experience in systems engineering with emphasis in network engineering
US Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position
Master's Degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline
3-5 years' experience in systems engineering and integration
3-5 years' experience in DoD and commercial SATCOM and network engineering
3-5 years' experience with ground systems, such as terminals and networks
3-5 years' experience with military space systems and protected MILSATCOM systems
