Systems Integration Engineer

As a Systems Integration Engineer, you will work with multi-disciplinary teams with backgrounds in AI, mechatronics, computer vision, vehicle design, and robotics. You will liaise with our software, vehicle, experience, and hardware organizations to align and integrate our various platforms. You will also support teams to build, test, and diagnose the root causes of bugs and errors to engineer robust prototyping solutions. You will be challenged to develop and integrate initial hardware and software prototypes for proof of concepts and guide the design needs to maintain a stable development platform. At times, you will be involved with projects end-to-end, from the concept through the validation stage.

Responsibilities

• Work with Application, Software, and other Electronic Engineers to help define and meet customer/system requirements of hardware/software
• Work with Mechanical Design, Harness, and Test Engineers to come up with novel methods of hardware integration and test setups
• Documentation of electrical hardware requirements and design (schematics, assembly drawings, BOM, PCB layouts, etc.)
• Evaluate vehicle or equipment designs and recommend design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance
• Design and manufacture prototype systems; components and harnessing
• Develop and perform detailed test and validation plans, schedules, and procedures for developmental testing and validation
• Provide laboratory support for integration testing
• Research up-and-coming technologies and evaluate applicability for Zoox
• Interface with prototype and design engineers to define system requirements and validation plans
• Serve as the principal subject matter focal point between design, prototyping, and systems integration
• Leading electro-mechanical integration for Zoox test assets

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience
• Control Systems related experience
• Fluent in Electrical Design and Schematics
• Fluency in C++/Python
• Experience interfacing with CAN and LIN-based systems and logs using tools such as CANalyzer, CANape
• Experience transitioning products and processes from prototype to production desired

Compensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $162,000 to $266,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
