Perspecta is seeking a systems engineer (SE) to provide systems engineering support to program initiatives that lead towards solving the Intelligence Community's (IC) "hard problems" for present and future mission needs. This work may include the coordination and analyzing the development, integration and deployment into operations of new technologies. The SE is also responsible for leading and documenting assessments of IC and industry capabilities to identify and evaluate capability gaps and to develop action plans to address identified weaknesses. This includes facilitating and leading modifications to existing developmental projects as well as operational programs based on analysis of emerging technical, analytical and operational requirements. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, analyzing, and defining, user, customer and stakeholder needs to translate them into technical and operational requirements.
  • Support Sponsor management in the identification, deployment and maintenance of applications and systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Support the Sponsor in fielding IC technical collection capabilities to bear against high priority targets.
  • Facilitating changes or modifications in one or more projects to include operational programs.

The primary focus of shall be to bring technical capabilities to bear against high priority targets. The SE shall support the following strategic leadership activities: identifying, analyzing, defining, and coordinating user, customer and stakeholder needs and translating them into technical or operational requirements for the research, development, production and/or procurement of processes, systems and/or services. The individual shall support the customer in the identification, deployment and maintenance of applications, equipment, tools, or systems.



  • TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • BS degree in an engineering discipline or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering work in the IC
  • Prior experience in one or more of the following domains: RF, satellite communications, digital signal processing, wireless communications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that can be used to foster relationships with external IC partners.
  • Ability to apply tact and communication skills to work sensitive political and organizational issues.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience applying strong systems engineering principles to the fielding of complex systems
  • Systems engineering certification (e.g. INCOSE CSEP)
