Provide System Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) to identify, oversee development, analyze, evaluate, mature and transition technologies to satisfy emerging requirements and deliver revolutionary capabilities in support of Government objectives. Remain cognizant in aspects of design, manufacture, technology development, and Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of space and ground systems and related technologies. Identify existing or emerging technologies with potential to mitigate capability gaps. Engage with users to identify unsatisfied emerging needs and requirements. Define technical solutions or concepts and develop architectures to deliver capability. Develop requirements and interfaces consistent with solutions or concepts and architectures. Define Research and Development (R&D) projects to discover or mature technologies. Lead project and organization risk and opportunity management board. Assess technical and programmatic risk and opportunities and provide recommendations to mitigate risks or exploit opportunities. Collaborate with acquisition experts to define R&D objectives, requirements, desired outcomes, plans and schedules, and technology transition targets. Evaluate R&D contractor proposals and technical feasibility and provide recommendations for contract awards. Assist in the creation and maintenance of technology roadmaps. Analyze and evaluate R&D contractor development assessing progress of development and maturation of technology. Provide recommendations to continue, re-plan or discontinue R&D projects. Participate in the evaluation of technology readiness and provide recommendations to transition technology. Support the planning and execution of integration, test and transition of technologies to user. Support Government staff in the planning, coordination and day-to-day management and oversight of development efforts.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's with 8 - 10 years of experience or a Master's with 6 - 8 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 6 + years of experience
  • Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment
  • GEOINT, SIGINT or Multi-INT domain experience
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills
  • TS/SCI with polygraph

  • SaFE Practitioner certification
  • PMP certification
  • INCOSE certification
