Project 804, our hybrid electric propulsion (HEP) project, needs you to lead all aspects of delivering work scope to the system integrator lead, including overall operations models of the HEP system. The model brings together the steady performance as well as the dynamic operations behaviors of the whole HEP system, aircraft, nacelle and engine.

The simulation engineer interacts with the chief engineers, the project managers and systems analysts to build and maintain the integrated HEP system model for the aircraft, engine and nacelle equipment. Will drive and follow components, rigs, engine, electrical components and fully integrated testing to calibrate the system model and ensure that the fidelity standards are met. The simulation engineer interacts with the requirement manager and defines the overall LRUs requirements. The simulation engineers evaluate trades and propose compromises to simplify the system. Works in close relationship with the controls software engineer in the definitions of the application software, controls laws and fault accommodation.

Responsible for the simulation model for the HEP, aircraft and interactions with the sister engine:

  • Engine including the eMotor
  • Nacelle cooling system (Heat exchangers, air ducts, cowl flaps and actuators)
  • Electrical distribution
  • eMotor drive
  • Battery and BMS
  • Cabin cooling loop
  • Cabin mechanical support equipment
  • Aircraft operation, the model will be used to train the test pilots
  • Interaction with sister conventional engine


Qualification:

  • Multidisciplinary mechanical, electrical and aircraft engineer. Background in modeling and simulation as well as control systems in aerospace equipment, including dynamics and fault accommodations.
  • Strong analytical capabilities combined to multi-platform analytical tools manipulation
  • Experience in aircraft and aircraft engine controls and actuation
  • Strong Matlab/Simulink experience
  • Strong initiative and autonomy, pro-active in decision making
  • Hands-on experience is preferred


Education:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, post graduate degreepreferred
  • More than 7 years relevant experience in the aerospace industry, especially engine and aircraft systems integration and physics based modeling
  • Confirmed history of success in multiple positions of growing scope and responsibility, with a significant duration of experience and expertise spanning the full qualifications of this role
