Systems Engineer, Senior
Develop engineering solutions to technical requirements, which requires well-rounded IT experience as each scenario may range from relatively simple IT solutions, such as determining the best large screen display to use on a Watchfloor, or to complex IT solutions, such as engineering an IT solution that requires integrating combinations of COTS and GOTS applications into networked systems. Provide systems engineering support, including requirements analysis, solution formulation, and documentation of the proposed and recommended solutions and present this information to the Configuration Control Board (CCB) Chairman. Create and update procurement related documentation required to execute IT procurements, including documents such as cost estimates, Request for Proposals (RFPs), Market Research documents, Sole and Limited Source procurement documents, Statements of Work, and Task Authorizations. This position is located in Stennis Space Center, MS.
-5+ years of experience in systems engineering and administration
-3+ years of experience with the implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
-Knowledge of Navy IA policies
-Knowledge of system life cycle concepts and the application of systems engineering processes to complex projects
-Ability to communicate specialized engineering concepts to non-technical leadership
-Secret clearance required
-BA or BS degree in CS or Engineering or 6 years of experience with engineering or system administration
-8570 Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
-Experience with DoD systems, including Navy METOC systems, applications, and architects
-Experience with MCSA and MCSE Windows Server 2008/2012, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6/7, or VMWare
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-IAT Level 2 Certification with OS Certification, including Windows or Linux
