Department Overview

Motorola Solutions is a world leader in the field of professional mobile communications systems with an impressive heritage of technological innovations and a global base of installed systems. The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers.

Convergence of LMR and broadband networks, new requirements such as live mobile video transmission, software solutions providing real time intelligence, and Next Generation 911 are transforming public safety communications systems. Our systems engineering teams design and integrate these wireless networks and command centers enabling voice and end to end IP based data solutions.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• The position is for an Engineer with a heavy background in Microwave and Fiber.
• The requirements:
• Microwave Experience, Deployment, configuration/setup and testing
• Fiber deployment experience
• Prefer person who has field technical experience
• Needs basic networking skills
• Above average computer hardware skills such as NIC card setup,, memory install, drives, etc.
• Above average software skills. (Note: not computer science background/degree)

Must be willing to travel - Position includes visiting sites, tracing fiber, microwave install support, network trouble shooting.

Additional Preferred Skills:

Results driven, self motivated, people-oriented technical professional.

Excellent communications skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences

Excellent English (both oral and written) is essential for this role

Must be able to work under pressure and independently, to meet project deadlines for delivering quality solutions on time

Experience working directly with customers and consultants

Experience/ Knowledge of communications networks (MPLS, Ethernet, TCP/IP) is desirable

Network Certifications through CCNA, CompTIA is desirable.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or other technical/engineering discipline
• 5+ years of experience
