Summary of Role:
We are hiring Systems Engineer III to expand our testing and deployment for new solar plus storage control systems. We are looking for a candidate who is excited about setting up hardware-in-the-loop tests on the benchtop and new network designs at customer sites. We are looking for a candidate to build-out the business process around solar plus storage systems through the project lifecycle from design to commissioning and operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Build out hardware-in-the-loop testing of new features for energy storage controller
Manage projects with nationally-recognized test labs for certification of energy storage control system behavior
Maintain CAD templates and operating manuals for the network design of solar plus storage control systems
Design monitoring tools to rapidly identify operating issues with energy storage control networks
Assist in build-out of tier 1 operating and maintenance team through training and tool-building
Assist in build-out of tier 1 commissioning team through training and tool-building
5 yrs experience with programming, monitoring and troubleshooting remote hardware
Masters degree or equivalent experience in electrical or software engineering
Experience with C++, Python and other scripting languages. Experience with source control software such as Git.
Experience with edge devices running custom firmware on Linux operating system
Excellent communication skills for training internal support teams, managing 3rd party hardware partners and documenting control system design practices.
Passion for building new benchtop tests and new installations at customer sites. Hands-on approach and dedication to making things work.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift 25 lbs and assist with the on-site installation of hardware
10% travel to job sites in California.
