Position Summary

The Systems Engineer IT Corp Products is directly responsible for the SAP Basis administration, technical build, performance tuning and release upgrades of the SAP applications including SAP ECC, BW, BI, Solution Manager, HANA, TDMS etc.  Systems Engineer configures and integrates various SAP applications with other applications, databases, and service consumers. The Systems Engineer works with technology and business specialists to provide solutions consistent with computing platform standards and IT development strategic direction. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Configure, administer and support all SAP systems

  • Responsible for the SAP configuration and connectivity to data providing systems such as BSI, Vertex and others.

  • Familiarity with administering supplementary SAP systems such as Web Dispatcher, PI, SLD and Solution manager.

  • Comply with established level of service and support on SAP systems to users to ensure minimal system downtime.

  • Work closely with outsourced Datacenter personnel to support maintenance events such as Windows OS patching and SQL hot fixes.

  • Work closely with other Basis and platform (i.e. Operative Systems, Databases, and Networks) team members to optimize performance and troubleshoot problems. 

  • Use performance monitoring tools to work with application developers to identify and correct inefficient database operations.

  • Serve as a resource to SAP Business Analysts, customers and ABAP Developers in designing, configuring and implementing an SAP system supporting business and operational needs.

  • Recommend and initiate change requests as needed to support business rule changes and enhance system functionality.

  • Support the SAP team during system testing, interacting with functional business analysts to define and clarify system specifications.

  • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences or a similar field.

  • Four (4) years’ experience in SAP systems administration, including

  • Three (3) years in production support role working in Microsoft Windows server and SQL server.

  • Strong knowledge of SAP system planning, installation, and administration, as well as a good understanding of SAP architecture and application modules.

  • Experience with SAP architecture, Basis administration, SAP Portal and Production support.

  • Experience with SAP running on Windows and SQL server.

  • Experience with systems monitoring, job scheduling, system configuration, authorizations, transports, SAP database tools, SAP landscape and client administration such as copies, deletions and refreshes.

  • Experience with setting up monitoring using Solution manager and CCMS.

  • Knowledge of SAP installations and administration and architecture in High Availability and Virtual environments.

  • Database Administration, research  and troubleshooting knowledge under MS SQL Server

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

    Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Six (6) years’ experience in SAP systems administration

  • Familiarity with SAP online and offline monitoring tools

  • Experience managing Microsoft SQL Server and related tools

  • Understanding of SAP’s presentation, application and database layers

  • Understanding of the SAP’s new software release management strategy (Support & Enhancement  Packs).

  • Capacity to adapt to constantly changing environments

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
