We have an exciting opportunity for an Interior Sensing Platform Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Troy,MI.


Selected candidate will work with customer and internal engineering teams to:

- Ensure requirements are complete, clear and understood

- Develop systems architecture with properly derived and allocated requirements

- Work with engineering and test teams to ensure that the implemented product meets the requirements.

The position covers Delphi’s Infotainment and Driver Interface products including but not limited to:

- Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) / Vehicle-to-'everything' (V2X) modules

- Driver facing camera (DFC) modules


  • Ensure the logical and systematic transformation of customer or product requirements into a total systems solution which meets scheduling, technical and cost constraints

  • Perform technical planning, requirements analysis & management, systems architecture & design, systems integration & verification

  • Work with otherengineering competencies to ensure proper development, execution and verification of requirements

  • Work with internal purchasing organization and supply base to develop new cost saving solutions.

  • Support customer demonstrations and development meetings

  • Lead and/or perform technical design analysis, trade off studies, FMEAs, design reviews and customer presentations

  • Develop innovative and creative solutions to unique engineering challenges by drawing upon your technical talents, passion, creativity and experience

  • Be the focal point of project’s technical discussions with cross-competency team, management and customers

  • Provide leadership, direction and support for the engineering organization

  • Proactively take a technical leadership role to resolve complex issues and define measures to avoid them in the future

  • Provide proactive technical notification / coordination across the global organization

  • Take responsibility for capturing, clarifying & prioritizing critical ambiguous tasks

 Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electricalengineering, computer science, or 10+ years of systems engineering work experience in lieu of degree.

  • 5+ years professional experience in Consumer Electronics or Automotive Industry

  • 3+ years Systems Engineeringexperience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in electricalengineeringpreferred

  • Proven record of taking customer requirements from design to production

  • Proven ability to work with hardware and software engineering teams to development optimal system-level solutions

  • Experience with using Polarion, DOORs or other requirements management tool

  • Familiar with development in the embedded environment

  • Familiar with Products Development Life Cycle (Systems, Software)

  • Familiar with vehicle network communications: CAN, Flexray, Ethernet, LVDS (preferred)

  • Familiar with cybersecurity concepts (preferred)

  • Familiar with SysML or other system description / modeling tool (preferred)

  • Able to think abstractly about potential technical approaches

  • Excellent Leadership skills

  • Able to communicate complex ideas succinctly and persuasively to peers, management and customers

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated, well organized, flexible, works well with complex issues

  • Ability to multi-task and work in team environment

  • Effective at working in an international multi-site product development environment with various cultures, skills levels and competencies

  • Willingness and ability to travelinternationally

  • Passionate about creating innovative cutting-edge automotive electronics products

  • Green Belt Certification desirable
