This position is for a Systems Engineer/Architect within the Aerospace Internet of Things Organization (AIoT COE). Successful candidate will be responsible for designing connectivity and IoT products and/or establishing IoT architecture solutions for assigned projects in the exciting field of Connected Aircraft including connected mobile applications, web/ground-based services, analytics and more. Architecture solutions may include a mix of legacy and/or new aircraft “things” across Honeywell’s extensive portfolio of aircraft systems, controllers, and sensors (for BGA and ATR aircraft). Architecture solutions may also include a mix of data access possibilities ranging from legacy data sources to defining new edge devices and gateways.

Systems Engineer/System Architect for Connected Aircraft programs

Work through and propose strategic architectural options across one or more mechanical/electrical systems and/or aircraft-based projects

Define and coordinate architectural decisions that consider data creation, data delivery, and data consumption across various aircraft platforms

Work with other systems engineering organizations for detailed functional analysis for overall solution

Cross functional communication/coordination with other technical leaders across Honeywell Aerospace

Assist Product Management in the creation and support of aircraft connectivity and product roadmaps

Provide input on Human Factors and User Experience implications of architectural options and solutions

Support proposals and various external opportunities

Support end to end IoT solution through ideation/proposal, definition of the statement of work, integration, and informal IoT testing

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems or Software Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with IoT/M2M, industrial, aerospace or IT
