Position Summary

To work in a team with the shared responsibility for the operation of all Windows Servers (both on premise and cloud-based) for our global organization. Responsibilities include managing Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD, file shares, group policies, and other system administrative functions. Additionally, this role is responsible for Banner's Microsoft Office 365 environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supports and maintains the global standards for all server hardware including, configuring, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting all server hardware components (chassis, processors, memory, disk drivers, and other components); supports and maintains the global standards for all server operating systems (OS)
  • Installs, configures, and troubleshoots Windows Server OS to ensure the health, stability, and performance of all Windows based systems
  • Supports and maintains AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Performs on-premise and cloud-based server OS upgrades and patching; installs server OS security updates
  • Conducts performance monitoring, system health checks, trend analyses, and capacity planning
  • Supports and maintains the corporate Microsoft Active Directory (AD); provides documentation and knowledge exchange to other team members for shared administrative tasks
  • Supports and maintains the Microsoft Office 365 environment, including Exchange/Outlook email, Skype for Business, OneDrive, OneNote, and other related functions
  • Plays a supporting role for the global Virtual Server infrastructure, both on-premise and cloud-based, including VMware ESX, Citrix, and Nutanix; plays a supporting role for server storage infrastructure, including the Net App SAN, Tintri, and all Direct Attached Storage (DASD).
  • Supports and maintains all corporate systems' data backup and recovery operations both on-premise and cloud-based solutions
  • Properly manages user file shares ensuring data is secure and accessible to only authorized individuals
  • Tracks and actively maintains accurate server inventory records for all corporate servers including primary use, primary departments supported, and key stakeholders
  • Works closely with the IT client support team to provide support and escalation for issue troubleshooting and resolution
  • Develops and maintains documentation related to technology installation, configuration, and management
  • Performs other duties/responsibilities as directed by IT management

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience

• 3 or more years of related work experience

• Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal written communication skills

• Solid analytical skills for troubleshooting and problem-solving technical issues

• AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure administration experience

• Strong ability to configure and support Server Operating Systems (current and previous Windows server OS versions, Linux)

• Excellent Windows Server administration skills

• In-depth understanding of Microsoft Active Directory

• Extensive knowledge of networking and unified communication technologies

• Detailed understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP

• Good understanding of firewalls, network security, and end-point security

• Results driven individual with the ability to deliver quality, on-time results

• Well organized, efficient, and detail oriented with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team

• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously

• Physical ability to lift and install computer equipment and peripherals (up to 50 lbs.)

• Ability to stay current on technology trends


• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and/or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator

• Experience in manufacturing and/or engineering work environments
