Job Description

The primary tasks include the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and user stories, requirements analysis, backlog prioritization and management, technical documentation, sprint planning, Request for Change (RFC) analysis and customer engagement. Assigned tasks may also include the development of software test plans, test procedures and test cases as well as test execution and reporting of all test results for all required test activities. Close interaction with other engineers within and across the scrum teams is required to achieve program objectives. Position may require occasional business travel to customer locations in support of product demonstrations, test activities and customer meetings.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education
-Bachelor of Science degree in engineering/technical discipline, and 10+ year(s) related experience or equivalent experience, training and/or certifications
-Proficient in requirements identification, analysis, documentation, and tracking
-Proficient analyzing customer needs, and identifying user stories and technical tasks to achieve various Agile objectives and iterative development schedules
-Proficient with system integration and test on a UNIX or Linux platform
-Proficient in statistical analysis methods and tools
-Ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories and concepts
-Ability to develop improved methods to increase program efficiency
-Demonstrated leadership skills (supervisory experience, building teams, mentoring, building customer relationships)
-Ability to negotiate effectively with higher level managers, functional managers, customers, industry partners, and teammates
-Motivated self-starter with good problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability
-Strong oral and written communications skills
-Strong planning and organizational skills

Preferred Skills and Education
-Masters of Science degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline
-Proficiency with Agile management tools (e.g., Jira, etc.)
-Proficiency with UML/SysML modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect, System Architect, etc.
-Proficiency with configuration management tools (e.g. Subversion, Git, etc.)
-Experience with DevOps tools and processes
-Experience with Cloud computing environments ( e.g., AWS, Azure)
-Experience estimating, planning, executing engineering activities
-Experience developing proposals, ECPs, and whitepapers focused on new business
-Knowledge of open, standards-based architectures, interfaces and geospatial data
-Familiarity with DoDAF
-International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) certification (e.g., CSEP, ESEP)
