Job Summary:


The Systems Engineer is an individual contributor providing working with the various data sets and ingesting systems from various law enforcement sources in support of the FBI NDEx contract. The operational and functional tasks spectrum includes system engineering, software development and data processing. Standard individual administrative tasks include individual time, timesheet, leave, and training completion; performance management; compliance with customer organization and company standards; performing other tasks as assigned and demonstrating proficiency, accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with customer on ingesting data from various law enforcement data source exports ( RMS/JMA databases) into software application that transforms source data into NIEM / XML formatting for law enforcement database use
  • Provide support in software development, and management of information technology systems, using intgrated development environments, multistep data processing including collection, exception handling, metadata cataloguing, ingest, validation, processing, and report / export production / ETL
  • Work with the Logical Entity Exchange Specification (LEXS) Publication and Discovery (PD) and LEXS Search and Retrieve (SR), N-DEx IEPDs, GJXDM and NEIM




Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Information Technology field and 4 years or relevant experience (without BA/BS substitute 4 years relevant experience)
  • No less than 2 years current experience in National Information Exchange Model (NIEM)

Required Skills/Certifications:

  • Current experience in NIEM
  • Current experience in NDEx or LE data
  • Proficiency in Oracle databases and procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL), Microsoft SQL server databases, subversion in XML and XML Schema definition (XSD)
  • Proficiency in XML Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT) generation collaborative sessions
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Experience producing quality written documentation, to include, but not limited to procedures and instruction
  • Experience in the analysis and assessment of large data sets while managing and coordinating major parallel IT initiatives
  • Experience in the operations performed on a given set of data to extract the required information in an appropriate form such as diagrams, reports, or tables
  • Experience in JAVA, XML Scripting
  • Experience in ETL
  • Experience in product development
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of applications

  • TOP SECRET Clearance
  • Frequently bends, kneels and crouches during computer system equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, assembly/disassembly, installation/de-installation, and sustainment
