Description Leidos is hiring a Systems Engineer with an active Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility at the Von Braun III building on Redstone Arsenal, AL. All work is onsite.
Our Systems Engineer will provide advisory and assistance services (A&AS) to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Special Programs Directorate.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with excellent communication skills to collaborate closely with customer and program personnel as well as Leidos team members.
Primary Responsibilities- Review program requirements, specs, test plans, and program plans to design security solutions for the successful development, testing, and fielding of missile defense capabilities
- Determine and/or execute special security actions for a wide range of assignments, such as: developing Program Protection Plans, Sensitive Test Plans, Security Classification Guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and Operational tactics/techniques in implementing special program protection
- Provide Subject Matter Expert SME guidance on the security architecture design and execution of sensitive ground testing (digital, HWIL) and flight testing conducted in multi-level security environments
- Provide technical and security oversight for special program design, planning and management by guiding and implementing strategies to meet program needs/special demands crucial for effective program protection across multiple engineering disciplines, environments, and IT platforms
- Discover information protection needs for missile defense sensor, interceptor, computer, and communications systems, and define security requirements for these systems. Develop fully integrated system security architectures and support the implementation of security designs.
- Evaluate future technology integration with respect to critical program information (CPI) protection requirements. Support horizontal protection studies and analyses to determine the value of specific classified technologies and ensure classifications are consistent with other department, agency, and directorate programs and elements.
- Develop and implement directorate special security policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods to identify and protect sensitive information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, espionage, sabotage, or loss.
- Develop technical briefings for agency senior leadership, congressional staffers, combatant commands, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). Assist in responding to Congressional requests for information/analysis and senior OSD and Service briefings.
- Collaborate closely with government and agency contractor personnel in a team environment. Provide technical indoctrinations to new personnel. Support collaboration initiatives with international partners.
- Position involves daily coordination with agency senior staff and program managers
Basic Qualifications*Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
*BS in science/engineering with 3+ years of engineering experience in a DoD environment
*Experience supporting DoD special programs
Preferred Qualifications•DoD Acquisition experience and/or previous Missile Defense experience (sensors, interceptors, C2BMC, AT, FMS, LO/CLO)
•Excellent technical writing/editing and oral communication skills to include fielding questions on the spot
•Extreme attention to detail and organizational skills
•Comfortable working in multi-level security environments
•Strong skills in MS Office products (Power Point, Outlook, and Word)
Pay Range:Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00
