Job Description

Work statement is a non-managerial role, non-leadership role.

The Boeing Global Services (BGS) E7 engineering team is seeking a highly motivated, creative and digitally-savvy Architect/Engineer to serve as a lead, out of Tukwila, WA. This Architect will work closely with Boeing Defense and BGS Engineering leadership to develop the architecture and requirements for international customers. This Architect will serve as lead to ensure that plan tactics are executed timely and successfully, with coordinated efforts among the team.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Mid-Level, Senior and Lead Level Systems Architects.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Responsible for Architecture, design and requirements of product support and sustainment activities.
  • Will represent product support for BGS during customer engagements?
  • Researches, analyzes, and compiles technical data for company products and system-level concepts in the projected operational environments to optimize effectiveness over the program lifecycle.
  • Applies systems engineering processes, methodologies and tools to the design of system of systems, systems and new product development.
  • Performs technical planning and control; maintains and improves processes and software tools.
  • Manages system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture
  • Assists with the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications
  • Develops system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components
  • Coordinates the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination
  • Uses an enthusiastic, hands-on approach to work
  • Manages system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture
  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues
  • This position is 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years' experience in Model Based Systems Engineering
  • 3+ years' experience working in CATIA
  • 3+ years' working on a Commercial Derivative Platform
  • 3+ years' working in MSOSA (Magic Systems of Systems Architecture)
  • Working knowledge of DOD Risk Management Framework controls
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time internationally & domestically


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • (Senior) 5 +years of higher education and/or related work experience. (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)
  • (SME) 10+ years of higher education and/or related work experience. (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • 1+ years' requirements development
  • 3+ years' Worked with cross functional teams
  • Working knowledge of Confluence
  • Working Knowledge of CMPRO


Typical Education/ Experience:

(Mid-Level) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

(Senior) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

(SME) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This is the pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position $89.40/hour - $99.33/hour
