Overview
The candidate will perform a variety of system administration duties to a Content Management system hosted in an AWS environment. Canidate must perform variety of technical and non-technical tasks such as creating SOPs, documentation and troubleshooting as needed. Candidate will be the sole Sys Admin for the system. Regular activities include performing diagnostic system checks, configuration and optimization of cloud infrastructure systems, upgrading software, applying patches and provisioning servers (as needed). This position requires frequent travel throughout Dulles corridor.
Responsibilities
Candidate will be responsible for review of system logs / dashboards (daily)
• Candidate must be able to work at all levels of troubleshooting Tier 1, 2 and be able to function independently to accomplish tasks
• Candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting/ debugging deployment, infrastructure, and data issues (as needed)
• Candidate will be responsible for managing message queries (daily)
• Candidate will create and scale EC2 instances (as needed)
• Candidate will manage data integration/migration (as needed)
• Candidate will be responsible for system performance tuning (as needed)
• Candidate will perform system testing (as needed)
• Candidate will deploy new system releases in production
• Create, patch, and image virtual server instances (monthly)
• Candidate will be required to participate in agile scrum events: sprint planning, stand-ups, grooming, retrospectives, stakeholder demos
Qualifications
Required Qualification:
• Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of experience; if no degree, 8+ years of experience in systems administration
• Must have 3+ years working in an AWS environment
• Strong AWS network and infrastructure management
• 4+ years of LINUX administration (Centos7)
• Writing and debugging Bash scripts
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
Clearance:
Must have a current, adjudicated, and active TS-SCI w/Poly
Desired Qualification:
• Capistrano

• Ruby, JavaScript, and/or Python
• Database experience (SQL, noSQL)
• Experience with ServiceNow
