ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Support proprietary software related to early childhood education.
Manage day to day operations of server hardware and software across both physical and Virtual environments.
Work closely with both Systems Administration and Software Development teams to effectively build and maintain necessary infrastructure to align with company goals.
Effectively manage and or directly resolve escalated support tickets, prioritizing and escalating as necessary to meet or exceed IT Department Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
Participate in the implementation of long-range plans and projects.
Prepare long and short-range plans for application selection, systems development, and acquisition of the resources needed to support them.
Assist with support procedure and network documentation.
Perform server maintenance, patch management, and network updates on a consistent basis.
Provide feedback to executive management as it relates to potential process changes and project plans to support company objectives.
Perform daily systems checks to ensure all systems are operating as expected.
Prepare, test, implement, and maintain Backup and Disaster Recovery procedures.
Offer suggestions for any process improvements and develop new procedures.
Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with co-workers and management.
REQUIRED OPERATIONAL KNOWLEDGE
Ability to design and maintain High-Availability environments in AWS.
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) operations including EC2, S3, IAM, EBS, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, and related technologies
Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012-2016
Virtualization experience utilizing VMWare Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019
Active Directory, Azure, and Office365 Administration
Microsoft Exchange 2016 and Exchange Online.
Network Deployment/Management/Troubleshooting (Meraki, Ubiquiti cloud controllers)
Strong networking experience deploying and managing LAN, WAN, Wireless, VPN and VLAN technologies
Knowledge of enterprise class switches (L2/L3), routers, load balancers and firewalls.
Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to correctly identify, diagnose, and remedy issues of disaster recovery, business continuity, stability, and performance
Strong customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
An undergraduate degree with a technical major such as Information Systems or
Computer Science from an accredited institution of higher learning preferred
Minimum five years of experience working as a System Administrator or an equivalent combination of education and job experience
Highly motivated individual with ability to continually learn new concepts
Ability to multitask, and problem solve at a high level.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrate a track record of prioritizing and completing tasks prior to deadlines.
