Summary
Reporting to the Senior Systems Administrator, the Systems Administrator will work with the service delivery team to provide support services to Sierra staff and assist the Senior Systems Administrator in managing Sierra’s cloud infrastructure, security, and telephony services.
Responsibilities
• Tier 1/2 support (onsite and remote) for Sierra staff
• Liaise with Sierra’s outsourced support providers and act as the primary escalation point to deliver a seamless support experience for Sierra’s staff
• Assist with the maintenance of Sierra’s core technology systems (Azure infrastructureand security services, Microsoft server, security and O365 productivity suite, box, salesforce)
• Assist with routine maintenance (e.g. backups, workstation patching, antivirus scans, general performance tuning)
• Overall user account administration, including developing workflows, control processes and all associated documentation
• Lead a data driven continuous improvement process based on top service call drivers
• Participate in / lead IT projects as required
• Develop and maintain documentation related to Sierra’s corporate computer
infrastructure
• Recommend and develop end user training programs targeted at improving the overall
employee experience
• Ensure that current and future service requirements of Sierra staff are identified and
addressed
Qualifications and Requirements
• Completion of a diploma in Business Administration, Information technology or related
field plus a minimum of 3 years relevant Systems Administration experience; or an
equivalent combination of training and experience
• Strong customer service orientation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to be able to
interact effectively with co-workers with varying levels of technical expertise
• Previous experience working with an outsourced service provider
• Ability to manage a variety of deadlines and priorities
• Previous experience supporting Microsoft-based work environment
• Experience with box and Azure technologies is an asset
• Must be a flexible, self-starter with the ability to work independently with limited supervision
