The incumbent must be able to relate to and communicate well with all levels if management. Must possess expertise in the fields of networking and application support. The incumbent must be able to understand and plan for anticipated benefits and user requirements in new systems. Must also keep abreast of new equipment and technical developments in the field of computer science.
Acquisition and usage of servers and PC's throughout the organization.
Special Job Functions related to PC's are not intended to preclude knowledge of or assignment to Server Technology and/or systems.
 Aid in adhering to standard hardware configurations and standard software packages that are approved for use by Division and Corporate.
 Monitor, through inclusion in the OCS Inventory system, the acquisition of hardware and software to confirm the use of standards.
 Give limited assistance to PC users in the diagnosis of hardware and configuration problems. Support Network Technician/ Hardware Technician.
 Participate in the organization and communicate mechanism to convey policies, standards and recommend techniques, and to receive feedback.
 Maintain VMware farm. Perform upgrades to hardware and software to ensure the VM farms stays current and stable.
 Maintain backup and media.
 Maintain server and systems profile.
 Maintain constant watch on space available and recommend necessary performance issues and fixes.
Incumbent should have an Associate's Degree in business or information systems or Equivalent Knowledge.
Four years Networking / Server experience in a manufacturing environment that should include but not be limited to: switches, routers, firewalls, security structures, clustering, raid, backup devises, VMware, etc. Network wiring and topology for LAN/WAN. Network certification is a plus.
Maintain a high degree of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all information related to the company business. Maintain compliance to corporate and division policies.
Will normally work alone with minimum supervision.
